Creative Projects from LEGO
Weighing one tonne and comprising more than 200,000 building blocks, the enormous statue - one of the largest Lego models yet built - will be part of a new £3 million attraction at Legoland Windsor, in Berkshire.
The Pharaoh followed in the footsteps of Anubis, the Egyptian God of the Dead, who floated down the Thames in 2007 to mark the opening of the Tutenkhamun exhibition in London.
Singapore Airlines has unveiled its latest aircraft addition - an A380 aircraft model built entirely of LEGO bricks - in LEGOLAND in Billund, Denmark. Using over 75,000 LEGO bricks in eight colours, the world’s largest Singapore Airlines LEGO aircraft model took the entire team of professional LEGO model builders at LEGOLAND more than 600 hours to construct. It is currently on display at “MiniWorld” in the main LEGOLAND Park. The model retains the dimension, scale and design of an actual Singapore Airlines A380 aircraft.
The “Abston Church of Christ” is a Lego project built by Amy Hughes, a computer programmer who enjoys doing Lego projects.
She says she once wanted to be an architect.
“Abston” is a fictional city whose name is drawn from the type of plastic used to Make Lego pieces (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene).
The church has hundreds of tiny Lego people sitting in it including a front row of custom selected Legos that represent real people who “attended” the dedication.

STOCKHOLM – Easter was a special one for the Oensta Gryta Church in Sweden: they unveiled a life-sized Lego statue of Jesus!
The 5.8 foot high statue was unveiled at the beginning of Sunday mass yesterday at the church. Made up of 30,000 Lego pieces donated by churchgoers, the statue was constructed by 40 volunteers over the past year and a half. The completion date was designed to coincide with the holiday Easter.
